Arpa is a Paris fragrance house that describes itself as a synesthesia laboratory. This is its first book, and it behaves like one: a lab report on Sequence 2, the seven-fragrance collection built around iris, with the findings delivered in photographs and prose instead of notes and accords.
Tom de Peyret shot it. Théo Casciani wrote it. The creative studio Adulte Adulte designed it, and the construction carries the idea. Multiple jackets and loose folders have to be opened in order, so getting through it feels closer to working a case file than turning pages.
For anyone interested in how one sense stands in for another, which is a fair description of what we spend our time on here.
