Grand Gallery
This is the official catalog for a Japanese New Wave poster exhibition, published by Grand Gallery. The posters come from the collection of Yasushi Ide, and the book reproduces 273 of them. The subjects are techno pop, new wave and post punk, the Japanese side of that sound.
The cover is plain. Big black type on flat yellow, with Japanese text below. The copy on the cover says the posters are a way in: you read them against your own music memories and build your own context. Most of the text is in Japanese, so the images carry it for non-readers.
Keep it on a coffee table or a shelf with the spine out. It suits anyone who buys records for the sleeves.
