Silphium
The Silphium Sling is a soft leather bag made in New York. The leather is supple and slightly mottled, in a sandy tan that shows its natural variation. It has a curved, teardrop shape with a gathered seam along the bottom, so it sits like a loose pouch against the body.
Silphium is a NYC studio founded by designer Onea Clare. Her work starts with vintage and antique textiles, natural fibers and hand-dye processes, so each piece has its own character.
The strap is cut long enough to be tied around you, unlike a standard shoulder bag. Wear it across the chest and pull the knot up or down to set the height. The bag hangs at the hip and goes with a rugby shirt, a work jacket or soft trousers.
